I was the Federation of Writers Scotland’s Scriever for 2024.

About Me:

I am an experienced, qualified proofreader and editor. I am a native British English speaker and have an Honours Degree in English Literature and Language (with Psychology and Modern History) from the University of Glasgow, with post graduate qualifications in Librarianship and Information Studies and in Teaching in Further Education.

I have eight years experience of editing and proofreading academic material – Arts and Social Sciences, Business and Marketing – though I also work in other subject areas. I am happy to work with material from people who do not use English as their first language and who need their work to be anglicised.

I work with independent authors, helping them bring their fiction to the market. I was the 2024 Scriever for the Federation of Writers (Scotland), promoting writers and writing across Scotland and judged the 2025 Short Story Competition for the Scottish Association of Writers. I publish short stories, poetry and novels as Colette Coen.
